Hello <3
Call me ember (they/them). I provide herbal support and person-specific potions, body-meets-mind-meets-spirit care, pattern and routine coaching, and erotic medicine. To book a consultation with me - go to the “consultations” page. To book me for a class or event - go to the “more offerings” page.
My ecological devotion sprouted in the thick, wet rhododendron forests of southern appalachia, on occupied Cherokee and Moneton land. Those rivers taught me to breathe, those soft mosses taught me to speak with my body and to speak to the non-human world. I learned to work with the lands and ecosystems I occupy by listening to those who were birthed of them, who’s ancestors care(d) for them so gracefully. Now, I live and practice in Colorado, on occupied Arapahoe, Cheyenne, and Ute territory, where I have fallen into deep, cyclical, and transformative relationship with the mineral and plant beings of these edgy mountains.
I work with herbs, breath, movement, minerals, diet, practices, meditation, rituals, lifestyle patterns, and/or whatever I understand to be vital to your rhythm//necessary for your healing. I read subtleties as well as body, movement, face, eyes, tongue, and pulses. The methods I work with treat the body/mind/spirit as a whole and as a unique site of elemental and subtle meetings.
These practices and methods have their roots in Ayurveda - the ancient Indian science of life. I trained with two schools of Ayurveda for over five years. I received my advanced training though Ayurveda Sadhana Vidyalaya in Colorado and in Mumbai and have been licensed as an Ayurvedic Doctor (AD) through the National Ayurvedic Medical Association since the fall of 2017.
I have deep gratitude for my teachers, who have so generously shared the depth of their lineage with me. It is not because I do not have this deep gratitude, but because I am a white person practicing this medicine which is not mine, that I do not advertise myself as an Ayurvedic Doctor. This is the deep well of wisdom I have known and I have deep love for Ayurveda, but Ayurveda is not mine to profit from. I am always open to conversations around whiteness in these spaces.
Social justice and my queerness are foundational to my sharing of medicine. These elements inform my reading, digestion, and application of medical, spiritual, and healing practices. It is a deeply rooted belief of mine that it is not effective medicine unless it is accessible to all - we may only heal collectively.
I seek to provide what I can to those who may not have access to medicines for financial or locational reasons. I seek to offer support and care for those in bodies that a white-supremacist, patriarchal, binary-restricted, racist society views as lesser-than, in need of curing, unreadable, or erasable.
My practice is queer, intersex, and trans informed and I work with people in transition and those in constant between-ness. My practice is trauma informed and oppression/privilege informed. All pricing is sliding scale and people of color and trans people may receive care on a lower sliding scale.
I hope to meet you.
